Biography in English and Spanish for Katherine Horrigan

English/ Ingles:

Katherine Horrigan García began dancing in her hometown of Ashtabula, Ohio. She studied in New York City on scholarship to the Alvin Ailey School/Fordham University BFA program and graduated with Honors in Dance. She has danced with Ailey II, Elisa Monte Dance, Nathan Trice/Rituals, and was the rehearsal director for The Francesca Harper Project. She performed as a guest artist with Les Grands Ballets de Canadiens and in Tokyo, Japan. She has worked with choreographers Alonzo King, Aszure Barton, Robert Battle, Jessica Lang, Dwight Rhoden, Scott Rink, Igal Perry, and Rodrigo Pederneiras the director of Grupo Corpo from Brazil. She has worked in Venezuela, Brazil, Trinidad, Montreal and throughout Europe. As a teacher, she has taught ballet for Ailey Camp, master classes in ballet and modern in universities across the United States, and pilates/yoga classes in the USA and Mexico. She has recently created and directed a Spring Dance Intensive Workshop for pre-professional dancers in Mexico City. As well as, her most recent choreography premiered in a festival at the University Autónoma of Mexico City. As a member of the company, Tania Perez-Salas Compañía de Danza since 2005, she has performed in Egypt, Ireland, Israel, Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival and throughout the USA and Mexico, and has been the assistant teacher for the company on tour as well as given all company auditions.

Katherine Horrigan García empezó a bailar en sus ciudad natal Ashtabula, Ohio. Ella estudio en Nueva York con un beca de Alvin Ailey School/Fordham University en el programa de BFA y graduada con Honores en Danza. Bailo con Ailey II, Elisa Monte Dance, Nathan Trice/Rituals, y fue la directora de ensayos para El Francesca Harper Project. Ella se presento como artista invitada con Las Grands Ballets de Canadiens y en Tokyo, Japón. Ella ha trabajado con coreógrafos como Alonzo King, Aszure Barton, Robert Battle, Jessica Lang, Dwight Rhoden, Scout Rink, Igal Perry, y Rodrigo Pederneiras, el director de Grupo Corpo en Brasil. Ella ha trabajado en Venezuela, Brasil, Trinidad, Europa, y Montreal. Como Maestra, ha ensenado ballet en el Ailey Camp, master clases en ballet y moderno en universidades alrededor de Estados Unidos, y clases de pilates/yoga en el Estados Unidos y México. Ella ha creado y ha dirigido recientemente un Curso Intensivo de Danza en Primavera para bailarines semi-profesionales en el Ciudad de México. Como un parte de la Compañía de Danza Tania Pérez-Salas desde 2005, ella ha bailado en Egipto, Irlanda, Israel, El Festival de Jacob’s Pillow y alrededor del EU y México, y ha sido la maestra auxiliar para la compañía durante las giras asi como dado toda las audiciones para la compania.
